This series consists of maps referred to by the Department of Lands Planning and Environment as Topographical mapping (Military Historical maps) prepared by Australian Section, Imperial General Staff or Royal Australian Survey Corps. The maps show the following information as explained in legends: telephone line along the road, high tension power line, electric power station, railway and railway station, railway station with siding, railway siding, aerodrome, emergency landing ground, seaplane base, seaplane mooring area, roads, roads or tracks, bridge with load capacity in tons, lighthouse, and telegraph facilities. Natural resources shown include: permanent water, non-perennial stream, water channel, tank or dam, fathom lines, swamp or marsh, form lines approx. in feet, heights in feet, and timber. Each sheet includes an index to adjoining sheets. Scale 8 miles to 1 inch Index on verso: name of place (alphabetical), feature, grid reference.
